Alcatel-Lucent is a French telecommunications company and the result of a merger between Alcatel and Lucent Technologies since December 1, 2006.
The company provides solutions to service providers, businesses and governments to enable them to provide voice, data and video communications services to end users. Alcatel-Lucent operates in more than 130 countries and is one of the larger research, technology and innovation organizations in the telecom sector. Headquartered in Paris, the company was led by Dutchman Ben Verwaayen from September 2008 to February 2013. Frenchman Michel Combes has been the new CEO since April 2013.
